Abstract
Aim. Study cytotoxic effect of Yersinia pestis strains with various degree of virulence on leukocytes of whole defibrinated human blood. Materials and methods. 15 strains of Y. pestis were used in the study. DNA histograms were registered using flow cytofluorimeter. Results. Possibility of using cytotoxicity to differentiate Y. pestis into virulent and avirulent w f as experimentally proven. The data obtained was comparable with LD 5 o for mice and did not contradict molecular-genetic characteristics of the strains. Conclusion. The approach proposed allows to obtain reliable results and is perspective for evaluation of virulence for Y. pestis strains.
