Abstract

This paper presents a proposal of impact assessment of short-duration rms voltage variations using fuzzy logic. The index IF (Impact Factor) of the Brazilian power quality regulation standard is the evaluation parameter. The fuzzy logic is used to represent the vagueness in the disturbance magnitude and duration measures. The method is used with computationally generated power quality signals. According to the results, the fuzzy assessment seems to be a good method to represent the impact of the disturbances at a consumer taking into account the uncertainties in the measures of voltage magnitude and duration.
