Methods included bias adjustment using average difference spectrum, new pixel-to-wavelength assignments, piecewise direct standardisation (PDS), global models, model updating (MU) and combinations of these. Best results (R2 > 0.84 and bias < 0.2) were obtained by PDS using the same variety of fruit in calibration and transfer sets. The use of an apple spectra transfer set was also successful, if the wavelength accuracy of the slave unit(s) is satisfactory.
