This study found that employee engagement has a significant impact on job satisfaction. There is no significant direct effect of employee engagement on employee loyalty. Surprisingly, we also found that employee engagement has a significant mediating impact on the link between employee engagement and employee loyalty. Abstract

Employee loyalty is an important factor in managing the organisation such as a university. There are some antecedents of employee loyalty, such as employee engagement and job satisfaction. This study examines the relationship between employee engagements, job satisfaction and employee loyalty. This preliminary study has been conducted in a university in Indonesia. We employed lecturers of one state university in West Sumatera as the sample of study.
