Abstract

The number of wireless devices with MIMO capability is rapidly increasing in the market. This calls for fast and accurate measurement methodologies to assess the full MIMO OTA performance of such devices. This paper elaborates upon the reverberation chamber as a fast and accurate state-of-the-art methodology for MIMO OTA performance analysis. It is shown that a standalone reverberation chamber provides the basic information needed to distinguish between a good and a bad MIMO OTA device, as well as how the reverberation chamber can be combined with a channel emulator to provide advanced evaluation. In addition, a repeatability study is performed, showing very good alignment of the results.
