Abstract

The authors describe a case of diabetes in whom enormous doses of insulin were required for a temporary period. The patient was a Jewess aged 61 whose original complaint was pruritus vulvre. For three years glycosuria was completely controlled by a diet of 1750 calories ; then, despite strict adherence to the diet and the absence of infection, sugar reappeared in the urine.
