Abstract

With rising environmental concerns due to tailpipe emissions of present-day vehicles on Indian roads, industry is looking to introduce alternative modes of transportation. Driving Electric Vehicles will reduce the overall carbon footprint only if the batteries are charged from renewable energy. With its falling prices and ease of installation, Photovoltaic systems are ideal candidate for charging Electric Vehicles. This paper investigates the possibility of charging electric vehicles from a Grid-integrated PV system.
