Abstract

Thiswork,basedonwrittencorporadata,presentssomethoughtsaboutthepossiblevariationoftheprepositionswiththeverbsligar(‘tocall’)andtelefonar(‘totelephone’),inEuropeanPortuguese,andllamar(‘tocall’)andtelefonear(‘totelephone’)inPeninsularSpanish.Takingintoaccountthecomplexityoftheprepositioncategory,weanalysethediversityoftheconstructionswiththeseverbsandwereflectupondessemantizationasthebase of that variation.
