Abstract

In the paper the efficiency of the information transfer in the road traffic by the variable message signs was evaluated. The article consists of two parts. The first part discusses the purpose and types of signs, taking into account the technology of their manufacture. The main focus of this paper is on characters with discontinuous drawing. In the second part, based on the literature review and the author's questionnaire, the requirements and expectations of drivers in terms of the form and manner of the information transfer were characterized. The article has been supplemented with an appendix, which describes the principles of introducing variable message signs on the market as a construction product.
