Abstract

In Indonesia, especially in rural areas, the potential of low head river and sunlight is still quite abundant energy source; these can be used as a source of electricity on a small scale such as picohydro and solar energy. The rural areas are usually far from the electricity network, so that a power plant off grid is sufficient enough for a house. One component of the picohydro generator is a turbine, and so, this research is designed with dimensions of turbine according to flow condition of the river in West Java Indonesia.
