Abstract
Q (1) Is there sufficient empirical evidence for functional communication training (FCT) to be considered an evidence-based practice in psychology? (2) What is the strength of the evidence of FCT effectiveness in natural contexts by examining: (a) the effects on problem behavior including maintenance and generalization, (b) social validity of FCT, and (c) additional effects of FCT on other behaviors and outcomes?

Evidence-Based Communication Assessment and Intervention (EBCAI) brings together professionals who work in clinical and educational practice as well as researchers from all disciplines to promote evidence-based practice (EBP) in serving individuals with communication impairments.
