But the main drawback of OFDM is its high peak to average power ratio (PAPR), which can lead to nonlinear distortions in the power amplifiers at the transmitter side. Selected mapping (SLM) based schemes effectively reduce the PAPR of OFDM system. However they require side information (SI) transmission, which suffers a loss in the data throughput in addition to the increased system complexity. A novel SI detection method enabling low complexity data decoding is proposed. Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a modulation technique that is suitable for high data rate communication. But the main drawback of OFDM is its high peak to average power ratio (PAPR), which can lead to nonlinear distortions in the power amplifiers at the transmitter side.
