Based on the theories of children’s language function, child developmental psychology and multiple intelligences, combined with the analysis of the learning characteristics and needs of overseas Chinese learners, this paper holds that overseas Chinese education for young learners should have the functions of “developing learners’ Chinese language abilities to meet their growth needs” and “promoting the integrated development of learners’ multiple intelligences”. Abstract

Abstract The younger age trend of overseas Chinese learners points out a key goal for the research of the function of overseas Chinese education, that is, to meet the needs of learners’ growth and development. 摘要海外汉语学习者的低龄化趋势为海外汉语教育功能研究指明了一个关键目标,即满足学习者成长和发展的需要。因此,讨论不应局限于传统教学目标的角度,而应扩展到学习者的学习特点和需求。本文以儿童语言功能、儿童发展心理学、多元智能等理论为基础,结合对海外汉语学习者的学习特点和需求的分析,认为青少年海外汉语教育应具有“发展学习者的汉语能力,满足其成长需要”和“促进学习者多元智能的综合发展”的功能。并分别讨论了如何实现这两个功能。
