To find out therelationship between level of anxiety and depression with age, gender, educational level, occupation,residence, frequency of admission, marital status, and monthly income.Methodology: Descriptive analysis designs are used to conduct the study. The study period started frommarch 1th, 2021 to April 15th 2021 at the Department of Oncology in Al- Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital.Total of (110) patients selected from oncology department in Al-Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital. tenpatients were excluded from the study for the pilot study. So the total number of patients participating inthe study was (100) patients. The depression and anxiety Scale are consisting from 14 items self-ratedquestionnaire that involves two dimensions. These are depression (7 items) and anxiety (7 items). Theseitems are measured on a (4) point Likert-type scale of 1 (Not applicable), 2 (Somewhat applicable), 3(Often remarkable) and 4 (Very often applicable). The total score is computed by summing scores ofall items. The score of each dimension is calculated by summing the scores of the items and dividingby the number of items.Results: The demographic and clinical characteristics of the samples the vast majority of the patientswere (73%) were all males, (85%) are married couple, the participants (48%) were housewives andunemployed, (62%) from lung cancer patients are urban, (46.8%).
