Abstract
Ethics are inherent to social work. During the last years, the different publications about ethics in social works have designed a valuable background. They have also been very helpful in building the identity of the profession. The purpose of this article is to analyse the relevant scientific literature in relation to the ethics of social work at a national level. The descriptive-observational analysis has been carried out to review all relevant literature published in Spanish journals in the social sciences between 1900 and 2015. The qualitative analysis shows the publications through the years and highlights the most important journals and editorials and the largest contributors. This specific study is the first developed in Spain and it confirms the periodization defined by other previous researches about the history of the ethics of social work in this country.
