EUSTACHIAN tube and tympanoplasty types I and II.

Abstract

Moderator Juers: As listed on the program, the discussion this afternoon is to be on tympanoplasty, Types I and II, and the Eustachian tube. There are several questions which have been brought to me on which people would like to have some discussion. We will cover those first, and during the remaining part of our time we will ask for any questions on Types I and II tympanoplasty and the Eustachian tube which may come from the floor. One of the things about which several members have asked is the selection of cases—purely from the standpoint of the size of the perforation and location—with respect to whether or not that particular ear should be considered for office closure treatment before considering tympanoplasty. We will disregard the two or three thousand miles a patient has to travel in Texas in order to get to the medical centers there as well
