Material and Methods: At this stage, maxillary deficiencies can be treated with skeletally supported expanders with various device designs proposed by authors, with their own work protocols. Results: RME in adults can result in substantial expansion similar to that obtained in patients who have not yet completed the ossification of the mid-palatal suture, so it could be considered a favorable treatment alternative to correct crossbites and transverse deficiency of the maxilla. Abstract
