In the first period – during autumn and winter – the ropes in combination with fibre-reinforced soil reduced the danger of local landslides and soil erosion. After hydroseeding the system provided water supply needed for seed germination. During grass growth the fertilising effect of nitrogen compounds released as a result of wool biodegradation was revealed. Abstract

The paper describes an innovative method for stabilisation and greening of newly formed road slopes.
