Abstract
The fast dissolving orally disintegrating film are the designed to dissolve upon contact with wet surface or fluids like saliva, within a few seconds. Like a tablet, capsule, oral liquids there is no need of additional liquids like water. This is the most convenient dosage form for patients and also provides marketing advantages. In pediatric, geriatric and patient who have fear of choking orally disintegrating film is most convenient and popular dosage form. As the drug I directly absorb in blood through mucus membrane in mouth the degradation of drug in GIT and the first pass metabolism of drug is avoided which increase the arability of drug in plasma which increases therapeutic effect. This review gives information about all aspects from today’s point of view and gives idea about evaluation, formulation, manufacturing process of fast dissolving orally disintegrating film.
