After adjusting for confounders, we found that decreased CSA of the GMM was significantly associated with lower functional independence measure gains (β: -0.432, p < .001). Abstract

We investigated the association between the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the gluteus medius muscle (GMM) and activities of daily living in patients with hip fractures.
