It can be used as a facility to support in class learning by developing an e-modul app. This study aims to analyze the need to develop a teaching materials for school which is e-modul assisted by Android smartphone to improve junior high school students’ mathematical reasoning ability. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods that oriented to develop an educational product. The subject of this study was a mathematic teacher and 40 students in 9 th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Legok. The data were collected using interview and observation methods. The data analysis uses Analysis Interactive by Miles-Huberman that consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of the analysis is the curriculum using 2013 curriculum, the teacher still using lecture method, printed books is the only teaching materials, and students’ mathematical reasoning ability is not really good proof by students’ below average learning achievement especially in statistics.
