Provisioning protection and security to the PHI is the major concern but it is very difficult to safeguard the generated data from unauthorized users or breaches. There are many advanced techniques are in use today to protect the individuals sensitive data. Data masking approach is the advanced technique that enables security provisioning of personnel health records. This paper presented the in-depth study on current healthcare security techniques and summarized the gaps in security provisioning.
