STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN AGRIBISNIS KARET DALAM PRESPEKTIF PERANAN KELEMBAGAAN DI INDONESIA

Rubber as an export commodity has an important role in the national economy. Fluctuating and declining rubber prices can affect national rubber production, so a rubber agribusiness development strategy is needed. To maintain the continuity and quality of rubber, the objectives of this paper are (1) to know the urgency of the existence of farmer institutions in agricultural development in Indonesia; (2) Assessing the condition and competitiveness of rubber in Indonesia (3) Identifying rubber agribusiness problems in Indonesia; (4) Strategy in rubber development through institutions to create prosperous farmers. The method used in this study is a literature review which is then analyzed by a systematic literary review method. The result of this research is that farmer institutions are expected to be able to support agricultural development and increase farmer welfare. The existence of farmer institutions can be a forum for joint activities with togetherness that will be more effective in achieving the desired goals together. Institutions in rubber agribusiness are cooperatives, bokar marketing and management unit institutions (UPPB), farmer groups and GAPOKTAN, agricultural extension workers and associations. The rubber development strategy in the downstream sector is carried out by developing a partnership system between companies and farmers so that rubber production is produced with high productivity and good quality, strengthening capital, and developing rubber industry knowledge.
