It was focused on students’ speaking ability through oral description practice in one of Senior High School in Garut. The participants of this study consisted of one class of the second grade, 30 students. To achieve the purpose, this study used pre-experimental design. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of oral description practice in improving students’ speaking ability. Pre-test and post-test were employed to obtain the data. Based on the result from the pre-test and post-test that the average scores of pre-test was 70.27. After giving the treatments, the average of post-test was 74.13. The minimum standard value in English speaking skill based on lesson plan is 70. According to the post-test data lot of student’ got score more than 70. Based on the hypothesis tested, it could be concluded that Ha could be accepted if there was a significant improvement in students’ speaking ability by using oral description practice. The testing was showed that t observed = 7.1178 was placed in the area where Ha was accepted. Thus, it means that Ha is accepted otherwise Ho is rejected. 摘要

本研究题目为“通过口头描述练习培养口语技能”。以加鲁特一所高中为例,通过口头描述练习,重点培养学生的口语能力。本研究以二年级一个班30名学生为研究对象。为达到目的,本研究采用预实验设计。本研究旨在探讨口语描述练习在提高学生口语能力方面的效果。采用前测和后测两种方法获取数据。根据前测和后测结果可知,前测平均分为70.27分。给予治疗后,平均后测得分为74.13分。根据课程计划,英语口语能力的最低标准值为70分。根据测试后的数据,许多学生的得分都在70分以上。通过对假设的检验,我们可以得出结论,如果通过口头描述练习,学生的口语能力有显著的提高,那么Ha是可以接受的。检验表明,t = 7.1178被放置在Ha被接受的区域。因此,这意味着Ha被接受,否则Ho被拒绝。因此,口语描述练习对提高学生的口语能力有显著的影响。
