Combined with the distribution and typical characteristics of distribution network line fault in a city, the formation mechanism of line fault is analyzed, the mathematical model of fault early warning location discrimination is constructed, and the line fault early warning and location method of distribution network is developed. The results show that the distribution network line fault early warning positioning method can accurately identify the location of insulation hidden danger, the positioning accuracy is less than 20 meters, and the accuracy rate of insulation hidden danger early warning is more than 90%.
