For this population t o have a healthy aging process it is necessary to maintain a good functional capacity th at occurs through an active life, which improves physical and mental health and can delay t he development of some diseases, including chronic pathologies. Objectives: To analy ze the effectiveness of the Pilates Method and aerobic exercise on the quality of life of sede ntary elderly people through a systematic review. Methods: A search was performed in the PubM ed, PEDro and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases, where two independent researchers searched for randomized and controlled articles published between 2010-2019. Results: 238 articles relevant to this research were selected, after excluding articles that did not mee t th criteria for quality and inclusion, or duplicates, knowing that 5 were used to prepare thi s systematic review. The selected articles scored ≥4 on the PEDro scale. Of these 5 articles, 2 presen t d the Pilates Method as an intervention, 1 used dance with low impact aerobic movements and 2 used aerobic exercise.
