Traditional and Perspective Nonlinearity Correction Methods in Power Amplifiers of Digital Television Transmitters
The article discusses nonlinearity correction methods in power amplifiers of complex multi-frequency signals used in digital broadcasting. These signals have a large peak factor and high sensitivity to the nonlinearity of the power amplifier. Various circuit solutions and digital signal processing algorithms are used to compensate for these nonlinearities. One of the most perspective approaches is the digital signal predistortion method. It represents the following: distortions are introduced into the digital signal, subsequently compensating for the nonlinearity of the power amplifier. Also the article discusses various algorithmic methods for digital predistortion of signals, in particular, Volterra series, LUT tables, and perspective neural networks. The modeling features of modern power amplifiers are analyzed.
