The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design. The sample were 68 Year Three pupils from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) in Tangkak district. The sample were pupils from two classes and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was taught using SQ3R method while the control group was taught using the conventional teaching methods. Quantitative data were collected through pretest, post test and questionnaire. T-test was used to test the hypotheses. The study found that there was a significant difference in the post test between the experimental group (M=73.18, SP=14.988) and the control group (M=63.21, SP=17.952), t(66)=2.486, p<0.05. The findings show that SQ3R method improve the pupils’ reading comprehension and most of the pupils hold positive perceptions towards SQ3R method. 摘要

本研究考察了SQ3R方法对三年级小学生语文阅读理解的影响,并确定了小学生对使用SQ3R方法的认知。本研究采用准实验设计进行。样本为来自唐卡区中国杰尼斯小学(SJKC)的68名三年级学生。样本是来自两个班级的学生,分为实验组和对照组。实验组采用SQ3R法教学,对照组采用常规教学方法。通过前测、后测和问卷调查收集定量数据。采用t检验对假设进行检验。研究发现,实验组(M=73.18, SP=14.988)与对照组(M=63.21, SP=17.952)的后测差异有统计学意义,t(66)=2.486, p<0.05。研究结果表明,SQ3R方法提高了小学生的阅读理解能力,大多数小学生对SQ3R方法持积极态度。本研究对教师和学生在学习过程中提供SQ3R方法的指导是有益的。
