The main calculated dependencies for assessing the efficiency and ecological compatibility of wind propulsion systems are given. The issues of using modern sails-kites as propulsion systems, as well as their use for generating electrical energy are considered. The principle of sails-kites operation is described. A methodology for determining the main design parameters is presented.
