The process involves partial oxidation, which occurs between $600-800^{\\circ}\\mathrm{C}$, although higher temperatures can also be employed. Several gasification plants exist in countries such as Japan, the United Kingdom (UK), America, and Finland that produce synthesis gas (syngas) or ethanol. This study aims to identify the main gasification reactors, the advantages and disadvantages of each, emissions surrounding the process and alleviatory measures. Despite the concerns about harmful emissions generated from gasification, various primary and secondary actions can be implemented to ensure that emissions are within the recommended environmental limits.
