The influence of SF6 and SF6/N2 dissociating products on the electrical performance of epoxy ester varnish, polyesterimide varnish, polyester varnish and phenolic resin varnish commonly used in electrical equipment has been discussed. From the test results it is shown that the surface resistances and breakdown voltages of the samples all decrease after corona discharge, and they are lower in SF6/N2 than SF6.
