The 60 GHz microstrip patch antenna work carried out in the frame work of RACE project 2067 Mobile Broadband System (MBS) is described. Two approaches have been taken: develop both low cost antennas printed on plastic substrates and MMIC transmit and receive active integrated antennas printed on GaAs substrates. Some configurations have been designed, fabricated and tested. Simulated and experimental results are presented.
