The main normative and legal documents concerning the definition of the border line and their political consequences are analyzed. The dy- namics of border changes after two World Wars and in the interwar period is investigated. It is noted that the final line of the Ukrainian-Polish state border as a section between the Polish and Soviet frontier was determined after the World War II, without taking into account the limits of ethnic settlement of Ukrainians.
