To address this issue, some proposals speed up the routing protocol convergence to reduce the transient loss of reachability during route convergence. In this paper, we present the multipath inter-domain routing by revising the current BGP protocol. The basic ideas is to add the MULTIPATH capability option to BGP protocol for supporting the negotiation between BGP peers, and modify the routing decision process for permitting route announce candidate routes to its neighbor routers. Our proposal provides the backwards compatible with the traditional BGP systems. 摘要

作为Internet架构的基础,域间路由及其可用性一直是业界关注的问题。事实上的域间路由协议BGP只为每个目的前缀选择和宣布一条路由。这将导致当路由器或链路发生故障时,即使存在可行的路径,网络也不可用。为了解决这个问题,一些建议加快路由协议的收敛速度,以减少路由收敛过程中可达性的瞬时损失。本文通过对现有BGP协议的改进,提出了多路径域间路由。其基本思想是在BGP协议中增加MULTIPATH功能选项,以支持BGP对等体之间的协商,并修改路由决策过程,允许路由向邻居路由器宣布候选路由。我们的方案提供了对传统BGP系统的向后兼容。仿真结果表明了该方案的优越性。
