A Critique of One Interpretation of Practical Materialism

In recent years, there has been a heated debate in our country concerning the issue of practical materialism. Many interpretations of practical materialism have been proposed, and, of these, one is particularly noticeable and has had a strong influence. In this essay, I will attempt to make a more systematic analysis of this interpretation. Some of the material in this essay comes from published articles; some comes from statements and speeches made at conferences and may not be accurate. Moreover, to save space, we have decided, in general, not to cite the sources of this point of view, and we hope that the reader will forgive us.
