Perancangan Sistem Pendaftaran Mahasiswa Baru Universitas Pasifik Morotai Berbasis Web

Abstrak: Sistem pendaftaran penerimaan mahasiswa baru Universitas Pasifik Morotai masih dilakukan secara konvensional yaitu calon mahasiswa baru yang akan mendafatar harus mendatangi langsung ke bagian pendaftaran kemudian mengisi formulir dan membawa persyaratan yang diperlukan, tentu hal ini dianggap sudah tidak efektif dan efesien. Dengan demikian diperlukan sistem terkomputerisasi dan berbasis web yang diharapkan dapat membantu memudahkan panitia bagian penerimaan mahasiswa baru dalam mengelola pendaftaran mahasiswa baru yang lebih efektif dan efesien. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan metode waterfall. Metode waterfall digunakan untuk menganalisa, mendesain, pengkodingan, serta melakukan pengujian terhadap sistem yang dibangun. Serta alat bantu lain yang digunakan untuk perancangan sistem berupa diagram konteks, data flow diagram (DFD), relasi tabel, dan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dengan database menggunakan MySQL. Sedangkan pegujian sistem menggunakan teknik black box testing. Black box testing merupakan teknik pengujian yang dilakukan dengan menjalankan modul, kemudian diamati apakah hasil dari modul sudah sesuai dengan proses yang diinginkan. Hasil implementasi dan pengujian yang telah dilakukan, sistem dapat membantu calon mahasiswa baru untuk mendaftar secara online melalui web yang disediakan serta membantu panitia bagian penerimaan mahasiswa baru untuk mengelola pendaftaran mahasiswa baru menjadi lebih efesien.Kata kunci: Sistem Pendaftaran, Mahasiswa Baru, WebAbstract: The registration system for new student admissions at Pacific Morotai University is still carried out by convention. Namely prospective new students who will register must go directly to the registration section and then fill out the form and bring the requirements, of course, this is considered ineffective and inefficient. Thus a computerized and web-based system is needed which is expected to help facilitate the admissions committee of new students in managing new student registration more effectively and efficiently. System development uses the waterfall method. The waterfall method is used to analyze, design, code, and test the system being built. As well as other tools used for system design in the form of context diagrams, data flow diagrams (DFD), relation tables, and using the PHP programming language with a database using MySQL. While the testing system uses black-box testing techniques. Black box testing is a testing technique that is carried out by running the module, then observing whether the results of the module are under the desired process. The results of the implementation and testing that has been carried out, the system can help prospective new students to register online through the web provided and help the new student admissions committee to manage new student registration more effectively.Keywords: Registration System, New Students, Web
