First, to design and implement a prototype of WSN for monitoring power as well as temperature in buildings. Second, to evaluate the amount of improvement introduced to the ZigBee transceiver when channel-coding method is used. The results indicated that the use of ZigBee based WSN in electric power monitoring provides flexibility and helps in reducing power consumption.
