ABSTRACT According to the National Solid Waste Plan, the implementation of selective collection is the responsibility of the municipalities (PNRS, art. 36, item II), which must establish in the Municipal Plans for Integrated Management of Solid Waste the goals of reduction, reuse, selective collection and recycling, with the aim of reducing the amount of waste sent for final disposal. Thus, in the municipality of Russas, the Recicla Russas project was developed, which aims to implement selective collection at the municipal level and enable voluntary delivery in various parts of the city. However, according to data from the Russas Municipal Recycling Department, in the first 7 months of project implementation, only 77 tons of recyclable materials were collected. Therefore, this work aims to present a proposal for a tool for the optimization of selective collection with application in the municipality of Russas. In this way, an application was conceived, in which the main function of the same is to map and trace routes to the various collection points in the city, allowing the population to have access to recyclable material collection sites and other ecopoints located in the region, enhancing thus recycling these wastes. Therefore, for the development of the application, based on the needs found in the municipality, some resources were developed to be implemented in it. From this, a graphic design tool, Canva, was used to make the application's layout to visualize its options, allowing a previous analysis, such as the arrangement of buttons, colors, icons, menu and among others, considering greater practicality and understanding of users. In this way, with the development of the application, it is expected that users will gain access to information regarding the availability of collection points for recyclable materials and the place of disposal of hazardous materials.
