The cross capacitive sensor offers many privileges in oil-based sensing. Moisture and 2-furfuraldehyde (2-FAL) are the two most important insulation degradation by- products. The concentration of moisture and 2-FAL with in the oil has been directly related to the condition of transformer insulation.
