It is shown that the inductances Ls and the capacitance of the Cs steps relative to the conductive screen distributed over the steps of the Marx generator form a forming line, the energy of which, when using a current chopper, is stored in the circuit inductance. As a result, an impulse of duration $\\tau\\cong$ 2N·(Ls·CS)1/2, where $N$ is the number of stages of the Marx generator, is formed on the active load (e-beam diode).
