The impedance bandwidth enhancement is achieved by inserting only one rectangular shape slot on the rectangular patch of the monopole antenna instead of inserting more than one slot on the patch as usual. Also the ground plane (GP) dimensions are very important parameters in the design of these antennas, because of strong dependence of bandwidth on ground plane size.
