WDM-OTDM transmultiplexing using a nonlinear optical loop mirror
We have demonstrated 80 Gb/s WDM-OTDM transmultiplexing by use of an nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). The penalty after transmultiplexing is 3.3 dB and the OSNR is larger than 25 dB. With the optimization of the signal source as well as the NOLM parameters, the technique can be extended to 160 Gb/s WDM-OTDM transmultiplexing.
