This work has the target of offering a first step analysis for any researcher that is interested in approaching the design optimization of a combustion engine. Though this kind of engine does not have spread use today, it is still a relevant point from which to depart. This work takes some carried on experiments on an internal combustion engine adapted to work as one cylinder. With the data provided, the energy generated by the explosion is assumed and then, it is possible to know the pressure generated in the combustion chamber. The cinematics is carried on the mechanism and then the forces per cycle are obtained.
