The single element of the MIMO antenna is excited by a microstrip feed-line and a rectangular defected ground plane. A stepped feed-line is used to improve the impedance matching. Each working band is generated by using a stepped open-end meander line. To reduce mutual coupling and correlation, the MIMO elements are orthogonal to each other. The first band is 2.61-3.33GHz (720MHz, 22.8%) and the second band is around 3.92-10GHz (6080MHz, 86.9%). The antenna size is 20mm×40mm.
