The insulating materials employed in power apparatus should perform satisfactorily at these temperatures for reliable operation of overall units. Insulating materials like polypropylene, cross linked polyethylene, medium density polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride are identified and are subjected to various low temperatures below ambient.
