A rapid growth of power electronics area which introduces the FACTS devices that is able to solve the instabilities problem easily. The Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a latest generation of FACTS device which can control the parameters of line impedance, terminal voltages, voltage angles and then damping of electromechanical oscillations between interconnected systems for secure operation and also improve system stability.
