Reliable multicast protocols for wireless networks
Wireless network topologies are used more and more in our days and their support was recently extended to the mobile devices market. This enables reception of high bandwidth Internet applications such as interactive television and data exchange. Because of the high demand of reliable and cost-efficient services a lot of work is still required for optimal results. The paper investigates the behavior of different error corrections algorithms used for reliable distribution of multimedia content to mobile devices. After a brief introduction to the existing algorithms, the study focuses on evaluating the performances of two error correction strategies with respect to the bandwidth usage. The simulation parameters are chosen to be in line with real case scenarios.
