The Space Vector Modulation (SVM) modulation is proposed in many cases to achieve the maximum capacity of the DC link voltage of the inverters. In this paper, the performance of the SVM modulation method in a detailed model of the electric vehicle powertrain system in various operating modes, including sub-modulation and over-modulation, is described. A real-time SVPWM algorithm for a three-phase two-level inverter is implemented using the DSPACE DS1104 board.
