This paper deals with the first step in tracking: localization in wireless networks, in which the energy resources are limited. The radio communications are provided by the IEEE 802.15.4 standard (ZigBee) and by testing in different indoor scenarios, with different power levels, it can be determined whether this standard can be successfully implemented in wireless sensor networks for tracking applications.
