Design of a low-profile reconfigurable absorber based on split ring resonator
This paper presents the design, fabrication and measurement of a novel low-profile reconfigurable absorber based on split ring resonator (SRR). The unit cell of the absorber consists of a SRR loaded with resistors and PIN diodes, and two rings as bias circuit. The simulation and measurement results show that by forwardly or reversely biasing the diodes so as to change the resonate modes, the absorber can be dynamically switched to operate in two adjacent frequency bands. A reconfigurable frequency ratio (fHcenter / fLcenter) of over 1.7 can be achieved with the total thickness less than 1/4 wavelength (0.096-0.217 λ).
